FOCUS (35+)
Who We Are
Welcome to our singles fellowship home page for ages 35 and up. Our group is called FOCUS, which stands for Focus On Christ Uplifting Singles. Our hope is to answer some of the questions you might have about this fellowship and to invite you to join us.
The vision of FOCUS is to provide a safe and secure place for single people to fellowship in a godly atmosphere. Our prayer and purpose is to provide an environment that is stimulating in the areas of learning how to live Holy lives in an extremely provocative time and to find progressive ways to use the gifts that God has already given us to enhance our fellowship, activities, churches, community, and most importantly, His kingdom.
When We Meet
FOCUS is held at Calvary Chapel, in Preschool 108 and begins at 7 pm on Fridays. Please click here to view the FOCUS Activity/Event Schedule.
Our address is 123 Auto Drive; click here to view a map to our location. If needed, child care is available through age 11 in our Preschool Building, click here to view the map.
What We Do
FOCUS is in a worship-service format, which means that we worship for about 25-30 minutes, beginning at 7 PM. We then have announcements and a short break. We reconvene after the break for teaching at about 8 PM. Currently we are teaching on Jesus’ message of the Kingdom of God found in the Sermon on the Mount. We finish with sharing and/or prayer in small groups over individual concerns, ending at 9 PM. Afterwards we go out to a local restaurant for food and fellowship. Also, every quarter we have a pot-luck dinner at the church.
FOCUS takes an offering every week. We support children in Romania through Chapel Missions Romania (click here for further information).
FOCUS activities include such things as outings, movies, hikes, special events, trips, and service projects, so that those in the group can give back to the Lord out of the blessings He has given to us. Three regular yearly FOCUS events are the campout on the last weekend of June, the Fall retreat in McCall on the third weekend of October, and the Christmas sing-a-long for all comers. The schedules for upcoming events are on the information display table at the Friday FOCUS meetings and also on this web site.
Gary and Charlene Miller teach FOCUS and they can be contacted by email by clicking here or you can call them at 888-3022. If you send an e-mail, please include “FOCUS Question/Information” in the reference line. There are many different churches represented in the Friday FOCUS group. We hope you come visit us and become a regular member. If you need an immediate response please call Becky Ruths at the Church, 321-7440 ext. 142.
