Daily Prayer Devotional

Words of Wisdom and Daily Prayer Requests

For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved’.  Romans 10:13.
Seek the Lord while He may be found.  Isaiah 55:6.
When we enter a shop we ask the salesperson to hand us the particular article we want.  Why then do we belabor the requests we make to God.  There is an enormous amount of pointless, prayerless praying done in our devotional meetings; it begins with nothing and ends nowhere.  The model prayers mentioned in the Bible were short and right to the mark.  “God be merciful to me a sinner.”  “Lord save me,” cries sinking Peter.  “Come down ere my child die,” exclaims the heart-stricken nobleman.  Old Rowland Hill used to say, “I like short  prayer; it reaches heaven before the devil can get a shot at it.”

No matter where we are we can make connections with the our God in the Heavenlies, and in less time than it takes to send an email we can receive an answer.  Do not wait for the set time and place but call upon the Lord anywhere, anytime.

Are we meeting the great emergencies of our life in prayer, and are we in the light which God gives? Are we walking in that light and  finding blessed solutions to life’s problems?  Remember, when John was beheaded his disciples buried him and went and told Jesus. When we have troubles and sorrows we can talk to Him, too.
